support assistant keeps telling me i have a BIOS update available (BIOS Update [BNKBL357.86A])
i select it, it downloads, i choose install, it then starts and fails.
why is the support assistant offering an update that it can't install?

i know the responses are going to be, download the offline file and update via USB, but why offer a method to update via the support assistant if it doesn't work?

Since I updated to the newer 1809 Mk 2/aka the October update re-release the problem appears to have disappeared. Several restarts later & all is still fine. I’ll await a cumulative update to see what happens.
In adicional info, i'm a Windows Preview User (slow ring), but I didnt find nothing related on Microsoft Feedback pointing to this bug.
It can depend on how many within the Insider’s ring/s use the driver updater on their machines, most users will possibly use their PC’s manufacturer’s download page or receive drivers from Microsoft.
The best you can do is to retire the machine.
Or, you must abide by the list of supported processors asus has.
Note that any upgrade processor must be socket, chipset, AND BIOS compatible.
You can use Intel® Product Specifications to look at specifications/features and compare processors, from the list of supported processors from asus.
And, you have just over a year of support remaining on Windows 7.
So, I would plan for the future.

Hi there! IntelXTU does not work correctly for me. I created an underworld profile for my laptop. When I restart the laptop, the utility sets default values. To make my profile work, I launch the utility and launch the profile manually. I applied my profile in the App-Profile Pairing section to the programs I use. But, when I launch the program (for example, Lightroom), the utility continues to use the default profile. I have a laptop Asus ZenBook Pro, Windows 10 Pro 64x, Intel Core (TM) i7-8750H CPU 2.20GHz.

I had an IR blaster/receiver hub for WMC that I used with my NUC. I found that I couldn't use the onboard IR receiver and the hub at the same time. I had to disable the onboard IR in BIOS in order to use the hub. To use the onboard IR, I had to disconnect the hub.
The onboard IR can pair with any MCE remote, but if your hub is also MCE compatible I think the result is some sort of hardware conflict.
Sorry, I never could get 2 MCE devices to work with my NUC at the same time.

I was checking it out to monitor the system and possibly do some overclocking.
I've had the tool installed since May and it has worked flawlessly. I've since uninstalled and re-installed and the XTU (date of post) crashes (freezes) my system requiring powering off the unit.

Spec of ac-8260 max speed is 867 Mbps but i can get only half of them around 400 Mbps.
- isp speed 1000 Mbps, confirmed with Lan by PC.
- wireless band 5G, disable 2.4G
- ac-8260 driver up to date.
- windows 10
- Router D-link DR 895L (support 10 GB)
Can someone suggest me how to set up, to increase speed close to 867 Mbps per ac-8260 spec.?

Hello, I'm Alice. Recently, my laptop having internet connection problem. I cannot connect to any network and it shows there is no available network. But my phone is able to connect network. The troubleshoot option shows that the intel dual band wireless ac 3165 adapter is experiencing driver of hardware related problems. How can I solve this problem?

Mobo Intel Coffee Lake Revision 07 with i7-8750H CPU
Whilst performing speedtests I noticed that WiFi connection is being disrupted and a reset takes place, i.e. no Internet connection for a short while.
Windows EventID 1014 10400 5005 5002 5000 6062 show up in the Event Viewer.
I can only but assume that high speeds are causing the issues. Wireless download speeds of about 480-510Mbps
(upload speed being roughly half the download speed).
Normal use, browsing, occasional downloads, etc., they don't results in any errors.
(Obviously, wired is fine, steady 500/500 over fiber)
Just reporting only.
As said, under normal circumstances things are okay.

Please consider that Windows* 10 LTBS 2016 is indeed Windows * 10 and as such is technically supported. The main issue here is that our driver updates will be available for Windows build 1709 (Fall Creators Update) and newer, and LTBS uses an older OS build thus issues may occur.
Since the way that you are reproducing the issue is by combining/switching resolutions from the Intel® Graphics Control Panel and Windows Display Settings, we recommend you checking if the issue persists by sticking only to the Intel® Graphics Control Panel for Screen Resolution and Display Scaling modifications.

In answer to your questions:
When selecting the hdmi port the nuc is plugged in to, it displays:
No time information
HDMI UHD COLOR
If i hold the button on the samsung remote hover over the HDMI port the NUC is plugged in to and in the options dialogue window that pops up and hit information it displays the tv resolution that its connected to the nuc:

I was only able to acheive 60hz after turning on UHD on the TV.
I'd say by the process of elimination, as it's the only thing you haven't swapped out, the nuc is at fault. It shouldnt bomb out during/after a bios update, that's not a very good sign at all.
My only other suggestion is replace the nuc under warranty or borrow one and test.
You have to been on firmware 46 if you want to use the CIR btw and the default firmware my nuc came with did not work with the tv until i flashed to 46. Actually the CIR is terrible on this unit. apart from it being broken for a long while it's only just been fixed in 46.
But the rest of the unit is pretty damn good for what it cost.

D. I try to change Refresh rate from 144hz to 60hz, but the flashing stripes still exist
